Getting started
Tomatoes lives in your menu bar — there's no Dock icon or window. Click the timer at the top of your screen to open controls. Use Start to begin a 25-minute focus session, then take the 5-minute break it suggests.
Activate your license
After purchase, your license key shows on the download page. Open Tomatoes once it's installed and paste the key into the activation window. Format is XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.
Lost your key? Email dlovedaypowell@gmail.com with the email address you bought with and we'll send it.
Trial, billing, cancellation
Yearly plans start with a 3-day free trial — you won't be charged until day 4, and you can cancel during the trial with no charge. Weekly is billed every 7 days. Lifetime is a one-time payment with no recurring charge.
To cancel a subscription, reply to your purchase receipt email or write to dlovedaypowell@gmail.com.
Audio & headphones
Focus presets use binaural beats layered with ambient textures. Binaural beats need stereo headphones to work — a slightly different tone in each ear creates the perceived beat frequency. Without headphones the app still works, just without the binaural effect.
Common issues
App won’t open the first time
macOS may block the first launch. Right-click the app in Applications, choose Open, and confirm. Subsequent launches open normally.
No sound
Check your output device in System Settings → Sound, and the volume slider in the Tomatoes popover. Some Bluetooth headphones can take a beat to wake up.
Activation says “not found”
Double-check the key for ambiguous characters (we use A-Z and 2-9, no 0/O or 1/I). Newly purchased keys occasionally take ~30 seconds to register — try once more.

We refund within 14 days of purchase, no questions. Email dlovedaypowell@gmail.com with the address you bought with.
